Course Content

The course covers how to recognize the signs of a range of Mental illnesses including Depression, Anxiety, Psychosis, Substance Use Disorder, PTSD and Suicide Ideation. This evidence based course that has been exported to over 22 countries will give participants the tools to identify the early signs, how to support someone in a crisis situation and how to connect them to professional help. All participants will receive a Manual to take home which includes further readings and resources. On successful completion of the online test, participants will also be given a Certificate of Accreditation that allows them to become Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace for 3 years. Fees We charge $250 + GST for our 2 Day Standard or Youth Mental Health First Aid courses and $200 + GST for Concessions. Concessions can include any type of Welfare payment, Tertiary or TAFE Students or a low income earner including New Zealand citizens. We also offer a 20% discount for anyone you bring with you. So bring 5 friends and the course will be free.

Breaks We will have a 30 minute lunch break along with a morning / afternoon teabreak of 15 mins each. We will provide morning and afternoon tea but please BYO lunch. There is a Dome and Subway either side of the building and other cafes / restaurants nearby.

Transport The nearest car Parking to the Platform is at the Perth Concert Hall. Adelaide Terrace is also extensively serviced by regular bus services from St Georges Terrace and the Elizabeth Quay Busport.
