This course teaches members of the public (18 years and over) how to assist an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander adult who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Additional Information

Pre-registration to be completed prior to the workshop. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective. All participants who complete this training are eligible to complete an online Accreditation Assessment in order to receive a Mental Health First Aider Certificate of Accreditation valid for 3 years. Please note this course is a "community education awareness course" about Mental Health, not a 'clinical course'. This course will be facilitated in a safe, supportive and confidential environment.
