The Blended Online MHFA Community Course is adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults and teaches participants how to assist a friend, family member, or other members of the community who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis.

INCLUSIVE OF ELEARNING Course Component 1 is a self-paced eLearning component. Participants are provided with a voucher allowing them to access the Mental Health First Aid eLearning platform via a link. A PDF version of the Standard Mental Health First Aid Manual is provided. The online course consists of interactive notes, quizzes and films. Participants are able to log on and off and complete the course at their own pace. It takes participants approximately 6-8 hours to complete the online eLearning Component.

Course Component 2: consists of 2 x 2.5 hour Instructor-led video conferencing sessions including a review of the eLearning content learnt in Course Component 1 followed by activities, scenarios, more in depth discussion and practice conversations with course participants.

Training will be facilitated by Trish Thomas who is the founder and Director of PsychAssist and is an experienced and highly sought-after Mental Health facilitator, with accreditations in standard, youth and teen MHFA.

Trish has an Honours degree in Psychology and a postgraduate Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counselling, and is renowned in the mental health industry for her hands-on expertise. The delivery of training provides participants with relevant, everyday life examples of putting mental health first aid into practice, and with over 20 years’ experience facilitating training, participants find her programs interactive, engaging and insightful.

Trish currently spends her time working individually with clients and workplaces in areas of mental health and wellness, along with facilitating mental health training programs.

This training is available for anyone across Australia including regional and remote areas.
