This course is delivered 100% online in a blended format.

During this course you will learn to recognise common mental health problems, grow your confidence in how to provide initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem, using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan, and how to respond in a crisis situation. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe learning environment.

● Support - Increases awareness of support provided to others

Course Component 1 - A self-paced eLearning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete. Must be completed before attending course component 2). $320+gst includes Dal coordinating the e-learning access, providing the MHFA manual and delivering the 2 x 2.5 hour sessions.

Course Component 2 - An Instructor-led component using video conferencing (2 sessions of 2.5 hours each including set up time). These sessions are interactive and include group discussions, activities and relevant scenarios. $195+gst is the cost for the online course delivery only (does not include access to the required e-learning and MHFA manual, which you can purchase yourself).

About the instructor

Dal is a passionate advocate for raising mental health awareness by using her training and lived experience in her work; to reduce stigma in organisation’s and in the wider community.

Dal works for Edge Employment Solutions in the disability sector where she promotes client wellness and staff training. She previously worked as case manager supporting clients with mental health barriers across Perth. Prior to working in disability, she trained many participants in health and wellness in England, Australia and worldwide (at sea).

Dal holds an Advanced Diploma in Vocational Education and Training, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently studying clinical hypno-psychotherapy. She delivers Mental Health First Aid courses face to face and online for organisation’s including government, not-for-profit, utilities and hospitality. She can facilitate courses throughout Perth Metro, Peel and South WA and Australia wide.
