About the Course
During this course you will learn to recognise common mental health problems, grow your confidence in how to provide initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem, using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan, and how to respond in a crisis situation. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice new skills in a safe learning environment.
Key Learning Outcomes

● Stigmatising - Decreases stigmatising attitude
● Support - Increases awareness of support provided to others
Course Component 1 - A self-paced eLearning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete. Must be completed before attending course component 2).
Course Component 2 - An Instructor-led component using video conferencing (2 sessions of 2.5 hours each including set up time). These sessions are interactive and include group discussions, activities, and relevant scenarios. Your instructor will purchase both components 1 & 2 for you.
About the Instructor
Dal is a passionate advocate for raising mental health awareness by using her training expertise and lived experience to reduce stigma in organisation’s and in the wider community.
Dal has worked in the disability sector, where she promoted client wellness, employer and staff training. She also previously worked as a case manager supporting many clients with mental health barriers across Perth with obtaining and maintaining their employment. Prior to working in disability, she trained participants in health and wellness across England, Ireland, Europe, Australia, the USA, and many other destinations worldwide (whilst working at sea).
Dal holds a Graduate Diploma in Adult and Vocational Education, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, she is a Clinical Hypno-Psychotherapist, a Mindfulness Meditation teacher and an Educator. She delivers Mental Health First Aid courses face to face and online for organisation’s including government, not-for-profit, utilities, hospitality, mining and many more. She can facilitate courses throughout Australia.
