Mental Health First Aid Course Delivery


All Mental Health First Aid courses are delivered to community members using a national network of more than 2,000 accredited independent Instructors. Mental Health First Aid Australia does not centrally list or administer individual Mental Health First Aid courses.

Our accredited Instructors list all available upcoming public accredited core courses and non-accredited specialised courses in our yearly training course calendar. Our current course calendar can be found here.

Course Selection and Enrolment

Once you have identified your preferred course type, course location and upcoming course dates in our course calendar, please contact the listed Instructor(s) directly for information about specific course enrolment requirements.

To locate an upcoming online Blended or Refresher MHFA course, please pay attention to the location column in the course calendar and look for descriptions such as “online”, “web-based” “Zoom” “Australia-wide” or "all states”.

Course Fees & Accredited Instructors

Mental Health First Aid Australia does not employ Instructors that it trains and accredits. Therefore, each accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor has the autonomy and flexibility to set their own course fees. Course fees do vary for many reasons which can include: course type, individual Instructor qualifications and credentials, course venue, course location (metropolitan vs regional locations), course catering and course participant subsidies that may be available as a result of a community grant.

We recommend that all of our accredited Instructors charge modest fees for course participants on a sliding scale, however, independent Instructors must be able to able to cover their own costs whilst ensuring they deliver accredited Mental Health First Aid courses in accordance with the course curriculum provided, and the quality standards specified by Mental Health First Aid Australia.

Course Completion and Accreditation

If you complete an accredited Mental Health First Aid core course (in either face-to-face or blended mode), you will be eligible to complete the relevant course assessment after course completion. After successfully completing the assessment, you will receive a digital Certificate of Accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider

If you are completing a non-accredited Mental Health First Aid Specialised or short course, you will receive a digital Certificate of Completion after all course participation requirements have been met.

Our organisation routinely collects and reviews course participant feedback as part of our quality assurance processes. Upon completion of your Mental Health First Aid course, we will email you a link to provide feedback about your course participant experience.
