Jeanette Horsley is the Manager - YMCA Peninsula Youth Services - YMCA Victoria, and a Master Youth Mental Health First Aid Facilitator.

Jeanette has spent her professional life as an educator, trainer, employer and Life Coaching Practitioner across the private, public and not for profit sectors. In her current role with YMCA Victoria, Jeanette is committed to, and passionate about providing training and initiatives to help build resilience in young people and in turn provide intervention and prevention opportunities around mental illness.

Jeanette has been delivering Youth Mental Health First Aid courses for the past four years, focusing on up-skilling and building mental health literacy and conversations across both her YMCA team member community and the communities she and her colleagues work with and support across Victoria.

Through a commitment to strengthen understanding around mental health problems, early signs and symptoms of mental health problems, and intervention strategies, Jeanette hopes to contribute to the reduction of stigma and judgement and help encourage mental health and mental illness conversations become a daily part of our interactions. She has worked with a number of cultural community groups including the Bahia & Australian Vietnamese communities.

Income through YMCA courses is invested directly back into Intervention & Prevention programs for vulnerable teenagers and young adults through Jeanette's role as Manager, YMCA Peninsula Youth Services on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula.
