My name is Akeshia Dart and im a proud Barkinji women from Broken Hill currently living in Tamworth NSW with my beautiful little girl.

I come from a strong family who have encouraged me and supported me in my career as a mental health practitioner. I have a Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health) and have worker as a clinical practitioner for 6 of my 11 years in my career. have had the opportunity to work in the government sector, not for profit and community run organisations.

Working in mental health is my passion as I strongly voice the rights of people living with a mental illness. My goal in my career is to be apart of the team who lower stigma and increase education across communities. During my career I have worked in various roles including managing a non clinical mental health support program, managing an intellectual disability support program for young aboriginal men who are at risk of prison or reoffending.

I am currently working for an AMS as the chronic disease outreach worker as I want to be able to help our people holistically so working with the mind and the body.
