Mia Olsson is a registered Psychologist and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society. Mia has an interdisciplinary role in the health industry, commencing in 1983 with hospital-based nurse training, an Honours Degree majoring in Psychology completed in 1990, and a work history within the nursing, research, counselling, medical education, and psychological areas of health care.
Mia has worked for fifteen years in tertiary teaching, mainly in smaller groups and experiential learning, as well as providing Mental Health First Aid courses to staff and students. Mia has also worked for the last ten years in consulting and private practice roles, as well as several years in a not-for-profit organisation, developing and running a psychologically-based program for community recovery.
Mia currently works in private practice (Canungra & Beaudesert), and in providing Mental Health First Aid training in the private sector.
Mia enjoys presenting to groups, and is able to tailor the content and practical exercises in the course to suit the needs of the target audience. Mia is also happy to run courses within organisations on dates to suit needs of the attending staff.
Mia can also provide tea, coffee, and diet-appropriate morning and afternoon teas, as requested at time of booking.
