Mental Health First Aid is a great course for everyone and I am passionate about raising awareness and contributing to increasing knowledge and confidence to address mental health issues. I have facilitated the course to general public, counsellors, care workers, peer workers, staff working with refugees/youth/people with a disability and clients and carers. My qualifications and experience are in the areas of management, training & health and well-being. Over the last 20 years I have been working with people with a diagnosis of mental illness which has given me great insight. I have also experience in working in the areas of alternative care (child protection), employment, youth work, refugee services and volunteer for Indigenous communities. I am currently working for a disability organisation and facilitate Mental Health First Aid for people with an intellectual disability. Research indicates that people with disability have higher rates of mental health problems than the general population. It is important that everyone gets the Mental Health Support they need. By doing Mental Health First Aid you learn how you can contribute to your own and other people's Mental Health & Wellbeing.
