I am a proud Aboriginal woman, who was born and has grown up on saltwater Country in Sydney. My mother's family is from the South Coast of NSW, Yuin Country, and my dad's from Tasmania- Nuenonne, Palawa, originally from Bruny Island in the South.
Professionally, I have extensive experience working across the human services sector, specifically in the areas of mental health, aged care and disability community settings. This has included 13 years in a Senior Executive role in a community not-for-profit NGO, where I was responsible for the development and implementation of a range of service delivery programs. I am currently the Director of Ochre and Salt Pty Ltd, an Aboriginal business that works with individuals, communities and organisations across Australia. I work with a range of government, non-government and private organisations in the design and delivery of community development projects, including health planning, community consultation, partnership projects and cultural wellbeing programs.
I am currently engaged as the Curriculum Developer for AMHFA programs and have been responsible for the development and review of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander curriculum for MHFA, including the AMHFA two-day course and all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specialised courses, the Youth AMHFA course, the AMHFA Refresher course and all Blended Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander courses.
I have qualifications including Bachelor of Arts (Social Policy and Psychology), Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), Master of Policy Studies (Human Services) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
