I am motivated to facilitate Mental Health First Aid training because of my own personal experience with suicide bereavement, childhood trauma, trauma, grief and loss. I believe education in mental health, suicide awareness and communication skills enables people to develop the life foundations that can support them to both have meaningful conversations with their family, friends and colleagues and live meaningful lives. In addition understanding about mental and emotional illness (and wellness) reduces stigma, provides support and potentially save lives.

I spent five years as a Telephone Crisis Support Worker (Volunteer) for Lifeline Northern Beaches from 2005 - 2010.

I was the Training Manager at Lifeline Northern Beaches from 2016 - 2018

I have a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling) and I work privately as a Counsellor on the Northern Beaches.

I am an instructor in: * Mental Health First Aid Training since 2018 (Standard and Blended), * Communication With Care since 2018 * Accidental Counsellor Training since 2016 * Lifeline’s DV-alert (General, Multicultural and Settlement streams) since 2016, * LivingWorks safeTALK since 2013 * Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (LivingWorks ASIST) since 2008,

I have also facilitated suicide bereavement support groups. I have guest lectured at the University of Notre Dame Sydney, given talks on suicide awareness and facilitated training workshops over the last twelve years to a range of NFP and Corporate organisations and institutions.

As a facilitator I aim to work with integrity, respect, dedication, honesty, care and compassion. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss the framework and relevance of any element of the MHFA training for yourself, your community or your organisation.
