In addition to being a Credentialled Mental Health Nurse, Cate is a creative person with a passion for mental health and a genuine interest in people. She has extensive experience in both the public and private health sectors and a particular interest in working with carers.
Cate has experience in teaching mental health to nursing and paramedic students and has skills and qualifications in adult education. She is also an accredited ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) trainer.
Cate enjoys sharing her knowledge but equally enjoys learning from students and participants. Her style in presenting is relaxed and friendly and includes some personal experiences and examples to supplement course material. She has presented to allied health students and community groups as well as organisations for over 10 years. Feedback from her courses has been extremely positive and in particular participants have enjoyed the learning experience. As well as sessional teaching and facilitating workshops Cate works as a mental health nurse for a national tele-health organisation that provides services in the areas of mental health triage, counselling, support and relapse prevention.
