I have worked in community mental health in the non-government sector for more than eight years. My roles have included direct client work, mostly outreach and in leading teams and now in managing teams.

I also have four years’ experience in delivering Professional Development to staff in the organisation I work for, on a range of topics related to client work. I have been a clinical supervisor in this organisation, currently for 25 staff and have supported front-line workers in this way for the past four years. This supervision involves supporting and mentoring staff in terms of their practice with clients as well as attending to their own well-being.

I have a 20-year history of being a mature-aged university student of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy. I managed to complete my studies whilst working full-time and as a result of these efforts, I hold a master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I love to share my knowledge in a supportive way, and most enjoy helping to educate and demystify on the topic of mental health and well-being. I do this because of my lived experience both as a carer and as someone with my own experience of mental ill-health and recovery.
