I have worked in community mental health in the non-government sector for more than ten years. My roles have included direct client work, mostly outreach, and in leading teams and now in managing teams.

I also have six years’ experience in delivering Professional Development to staff in the organisation I work for, as a mental health first aid trainer. I have been a clinical supervisor in this organisation, currently for 25 staff and have supported front-line workers in this way for several years.

I have a 20-year history of being a mature-aged university student of psychology, counselling and psychotherapy. I completed my studies whilst working full-time and as a result of these efforts, I hold a master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I love to share my knowledge in a supportive way, and most enjoy helping to educate and demystify on the topic of mental health and well-being. I do this because of my lived experience, both as a carer and as someone with my own experience of mental ill-health and recovery and to ease the way for others.

Additional Information

I currently work for SYC Ltd. (HYPA).
