Jamie Mallinder is an award winning professional with over 15 years of Health, Safety and Environment experience in both the public and private sectors, during which time he has worked with and provided HSE / WHS management advisory and capacity development services to a wide range of industry groups throughout Australia and internationally – encompassing a number of Fortune 500 and ASX 200 Listed companies as well as multi-billion dollar projects.
Psychological risk and mental health has been a passionate subject, both from a personal and professional perspective. Jamie was actively involved in the largest and first of its kind study conducted on mental health in the mining industry. Based in WA, the study was a joint initiative which gained national media attention and influenced the Mentally healthy workplaces for fly-in fly-out (FIFO) workers in the resources and construction sectors code of practice in WA. He has been a guest speaker for Black Dog for several workplace programs and been involved in community peer support projects, often sharing his own lived experiences with depression and a friend taking their own life.
It’s this experience along with the exposure to a diverse range of industry sectors, systems and protocols combined with his technical experience that provides him with a unique insight and ability to help corporate entities to improve HSE and WHS management systems to the benefit of all workers.
