Mena is a Walman Yawuru woman from Broome in Western Australia who was born and raised in Queensland, and has family ties in Darwin, NT and the Lower Gulf, QLD. Mena has worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health in programming, community engagement, policy, and primary healthcare funding support. She now works for a national Not-for-Profit in the Child, Youth and Family sector developing cross-cultural practice across Australia. Mena has lived and worked remotely and is passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing, and encourages every person to build skills and knowledge (weaving traditional & western epistemologies) to better support their family and community. Mena is an Alumni of Milparanga Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Leadership Program and a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Program. She holds qualifications in Business and Professional Communication, Community Development and is studying Educational Leadership.
