Katherine is a passionate and dedicated Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Katherine currently volunteers in the community for Meant to Rise along with running her own business. She has volunteered as team leader for Orange Sky Laundry, specialized community support in mental health and as an educator for special needs in both NSW and Queensland. Katherine is a qualified Counsellor specializing in grief and trauma and is an advocate for healing and living well after trauma. She has recently completed an Associate Degree in Dementia Care through the University of Tasmania, which has given Katherine a succinct understanding of the neuroscience of the nervous system and neurological disorders. Katherine currently operates her own business Inner U Vitality, providing holistic counselling, dementia education support and Mental Health First Aid Training. Katherine provides a warm and empathic approach to Mental Health First Aid Training and understands the complexities of mental health illness. Providing knowledge of mental health needs is an immense step forward in supporting others around you. Katherine is aware of the multi-level needs in the area of disability, aged care support, homeless services and trauma from domestic violence and child sexual abuse and firmly believes that education in mental health is a positive step forward in reducing stigma and allowing a non-judgmental approach to support.
