Rob is a Principal Master Instructor and has over 40 years of experience working in various roles in the Public and Private sector. He is currently working as a MHFA Instructor, as a support worker with people who have a disability, and as an Emergency response officer in the personal safety and security field. He has previous work experiences as a Learning and Development Consultant, Prison Officer, Police Officer, Non Destructive Testing technician, primary producer, Lawn-mowing contractor, Truck Driver, and trades assistant. His personal experiences contribute to his understanding of the difficulties that people face when working in emergency and community services or similar high stress roles. He has lived experiences of working with people in emergency services, been the victims, or witnesses, of traumatic events, crime, family trauma, and who have developed mental health problems. Rob has been delivering various training programs for over 15 years and ranks the Mental Health First Aid program as one of the most worthwhile programs he has delivered. He firmly believes that the program provides people with the knowledge and skills to help others who have, or are developing, a Mental Health problem or experiencing the worsening of an existing Mental health problem, and assists to dispel the myths and stigma associated with mental illness.
