Karen Reval has lived in Alice Springs for over 37 years. Originally a teacher, she moved into corporate training, gaining a Master’s Degree in Adult Education and Training before being drawn to Lifeline, firstly as a Telephone Crisis Supporter then as Counselling and Training Supervisor with a Diploma in Counselling, to now being the Centre’s Education and Training Manager. During this time Lifeline Central Australia became a specialist Education and Training Centre. In responding to a need for youth suicide prevention, Karen set about introducing a whole of school approach to suicide prevention training to secondary schools in the region. Central to this has been the delivery of safeTALK to senior students in Years 10 -12.
