Dianne was a NESA AMHFA Trainer/Facilitator up until 2020.
Dianne Borella was born and resides in Darwin on Larrakia country. She is an Aboriginal (Yawuru) & Torres Strait Islander woman with links to Broome and the Torres Straits. She has worked in the Australian Public Service as Aboriginal Education Officer, Aboriginal Field Officer, Program and Project Manager, Regional and District Manager, Health Solution Broker, Assistant Director and Senior Project Officer and then went on to study a Diploma in Arts of Social Science and Management and has attained a Master of Public Health.
Dianne has over 40 years experience in the workforce and has worked in Darwin, Nhulunbuy, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Thursday Island in roles with the Commonwealth Department of Employment, Education and Training, (aka Department of Education, Science and Training). Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing in the Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and has worked in the Department of Families, Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. More recently she worked with Wurli Wurlinjang Health Service, Menzies School of Health Research and the City of Darwin Local Government.
Dianne's community interests are with the Rotary Club of Darwin Sunrise, in which she has been involved as Director on various Committees and more recently the President for the 2011-2012 Rotary Year.
She has travelled to India on two occasions with the Rotary International Polio Eradication Program, and was the Team Leader for the Rotary for the Rotary District 9550 Conference on "Our Youth Our Future" in Dili Timor Leste, in May 2013. This visit included hands-on volunteer work by Darwin Rotarian's in support of local community development in Timor Leste. Dianne attend a two week 'Leadership in Mental Health' course held in Goa (India) in 2015 which was facilitated by Sangath and the London School of Tropical Medicine.
Dianne sees such collaborative development, adding value to organisations and communities to provide services to individuals and families as part and parcel of giving back to the community that she is involved with.
Dianne brings her wealth of experience and academic validation to every engagement.
Since January 2017 Dianne has been delivering a number of AMHFA Training courses in remote communities in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory.
