Suicide first aid guidelines refugees and immigrants
On World Refugee Day, it's important to acknowledge that some immigrant and refugee populations have an increased risk of suicide. This risk can also continue across generations, with some research indicating a greater risk for second generation compared to first generation immigrants. 
With funding from the Department of Health, Australian Government via Mental Health in Multicultural Australia, researchers from the University of Melbourne and Mental Health First Aid Australia partnered to develop guidelines for community gatekeepers on how to identify and respond to the risk of suicide in a person from an immigrant and refugee background.
